Residence requirement (citizenship)

For those who have applied for Canadian citizenship before June 11, 2015, Residence Requirement is the amount of time they need to mandatorily spend in Canada as a permanent resident to obtain granted Canadian Citizenship.

The adults (18 years and above) must have lived for at least three years in Canada (1,095 days strictly) in the past four years immediately before the date on which application has been filed. This requirement is not applicable to children under 18 years of age.
